This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the William P. Hobby Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 22 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=khou This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Persistent upper-level ridging over the southern U.S. is sustaining hot, mostly sunny conditions across southeast Texas, driving the tight market split between the 94-95°F and 96-97°F bins for Houston’s September 22 high.** Official National Weather Service guidance from the Houston/Galveston office forecasts a Tuesday high near 95°F under sunny skies, with light northeast to east winds and heat indices reaching 106°F. Private forecasts such as WeatherBug project 97°F, reflecting minor differences in how models handle peak insolation and any subtle afternoon mixing or sea-breeze effects. Recent days have featured similar ridge-driven warmth, with observed highs of 94–98°F and departures several degrees above the late-September climatological average of ~88–89°F. Light winds and minimal cloud cover favor strong daytime heating, but small forecast variations in boundary-layer moisture or exact wind direction can shift the peak by 1–2°F. With no significant frontal passage or increased convection expected through Tuesday, the outcome hinges on the final model consensus and any late adjustments in official guidance, keeping the two leading bins nearly even at 52% and 47.5%.
