Official National Weather Service forecasts for Houston on August 29 project a high near 96°F under sunny skies with only a 20% chance of late-afternoon showers and thunderstorms, supported by light winds and strong solar heating amid typical late-summer humidity. This aligns with above-average seasonal norms (historical mean high ~92°F) and positions the 96-97°F bin as the market leader at 53.5% implied probability, followed closely by 94-95°F at 40.5%. Model consensus from recent runs shows limited variability, with heat indices reaching 106-108°F but minimal risk of exceeding 97°F due to the modest convective threat; any earlier or stronger storms could trim the peak into the mid-90s.
