Close odds between 94-95°F and 96-97°F reflect forecast uncertainty in National Weather Service and NOAA model guidance for Houston on August 30, with ensemble spreads showing afternoon highs potentially landing in either bin depending on cloud cover and Gulf moisture. Typical late-August conditions feature high humidity from the Gulf of Mexico moderating daytime temperatures via sea-breeze effects and latent heat release, while urban heat island amplification in the metro area can add 1–3°F locally. Key variables include the strength of any approaching front or subtropical ridge, which could suppress or enhance mixing and solar heating. Updated model runs and afternoon observations over the next 48 hours will likely narrow the range ahead of resolution.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=khou
This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button.
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F.
This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
