This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 2 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.**Trader sentiment for Hong Kong’s September 2 maximum temperature reflects tight clustering around 28–30 °C (combined ~81 % probability), driven by the moderating influence of Tropical Cyclone Saola (or a similar system) interacting with the northeast monsoon.** Official Hong Kong Observatory guidance and multiple model runs indicate a daily range of roughly 26–31 °C under mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers and only brief afternoon sun. Strong north-to-northwest winds (force 4–5, gustier on high ground) enhance mixing and limit surface heating, while persistent cloud cover and rainfall reduce incoming solar radiation. Model consensus shows afternoon peaks most often reaching 29–30 °C when brief breaks allow insolation, but heavier or more prolonged showers could cap the maximum nearer 28 °C. Historical September baselines near 30 °C provide context, yet the current synoptic setup favors values slightly below climatology. The market’s close spread between 28 °C, 29 °C, and 30 °C captures uncertainty in the exact timing and intensity of any sunshine windows versus rain episodes before resolution.
