**Forecast consensus from official and model sources positions 31°C as the most probable peak temperature for Tokyo on September 2, 2026, aligning with the market's 48.5% implied probability for that outcome.** Multiple runs, including JMA guidance and global models such as GFS, indicate a daytime high near 31–32°C (roughly 88–90°F) under partly to mostly cloudy skies with southerly flow. Current conditions on September 1 show temperatures in the upper 20s°C with moderate humidity (around 60–75%), setting up a modest warming trend into the next day before increased cloud cover and scattered showers limit further heating. Key drivers include residual late-summer warmth typical for early September in the Kanto region, where historical averages hover near 29–30°C, combined with light winds and dew points in the low-to-mid 20s that support heat retention during peak insolation hours. However, increasing moisture and partial cloud cover—evident in recent model updates—cap extreme outliers, keeping probabilities for 33°C+ below 5% and favoring the narrow 30–32°C band. Traders appear to be weighting the tight clustering of deterministic and ensemble forecasts, which show little spread beyond this range as the 24-hour window approaches.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=rjtt
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
In the event which there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C.
This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
