Peggy Flanagan holds a commanding position in the Democratic primary for Minnesota’s open U.S. Senate seat, driven by her receipt of the DFL endorsement, recent polling gains, and appeal among progressive and Native voters ahead of the August 11 vote. A late-July Public Policy Polling survey showed her lead over Rep. Angie Craig widening to 14 points among likely primary voters, reflecting Flanagan’s statewide momentum and Craig’s more moderate positioning on issues such as electability and economic policy. Ramsey County, encompassing the urban core of St. Paul, aligns with Flanagan’s populist base, supporting the market’s strong trader consensus around her prospects in that jurisdiction while long-shot alternatives register minimal implied probability.
