This market will resolve according to the individual who leads the next White House press briefing following the creation of this market. Resolution is based on who actually delivers the briefing from the podium, not on who is listed or announced in advance. If the individual scheduled or announced to give a briefing does not ultimately lead it, this market will resolve to the individual who does. An individual who appears at a qualifying briefing only as a guest, or who speaks only after being introduced by the individual leading the briefing, will not qualify. For the purposes of this market, a White House press briefing is an event listed on the public White House schedule as a press briefing. Any such briefing will qualify, even if the individual leading it has not been formally announced as the Press Secretary or as an acting or interim Press Secretary. "New Media" briefings and special briefings including additional guests will qualify, so long as the individual leads the briefing. Impromptu press gaggles, and remarks that are not listed on the public schedule as a press briefing, will not qualify. If two or more individuals jointly lead the next qualifying briefing, this market will resolve to the individual who speaks first. If no qualifying White House press briefing occurs by September 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on footage of the briefing, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting.Multiple candidates remain clustered near even odds in the market for the next White House press briefing, reflecting the absence of any official designation for briefing duties during the current administration transition. Figures such as Marco Rubio, JD Vance, Stephen Miller, and Scott Bessent hold shares in the mid-20s, with several others trailing in the teens, as traders spread positions across potential spokespeople and senior officials. This balance arises from fluid early-term staffing decisions and the lack of a confirmed press secretary or rotating briefer. An administration announcement, cabinet confirmation, or public schedule update could consolidate probabilities behind one name, while continued rotation or delayed appointments would sustain the even distribution across contenders.
