Republican incumbent Tony Wied holds a commanding position in Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District heading into the November 3 general election. All major forecasters rate the seat Solid or Safe Republican, consistent with its R+8 partisan voter index and the party’s consistent performance in recent cycles. Wied, first elected in 2024 with 57 percent of the vote, faced no primary opposition on August 11, allowing full focus on the general election. Democrat Rick Crosson narrowly won a low-turnout primary against two other candidates, but no Democrat has carried the northeastern Wisconsin district—including Green Bay and Appleton—since 2008. Current trader consensus aligns with these structural factors, though an unexpected national swing, health event, or major scandal could still alter the outcome before Election Day.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
