Castro, now 95 and residing in Cuba, has continued limited public appearances on the island, including a September 2026 military event, with no verified reports of travel, extradition proceedings, or detention. Cuba maintains no extradition treaty with the United States and has dismissed the charges as political, while Castro’s advanced age and regime protection create substantial barriers to physical custody. Trader consensus prices reflect these structural obstacles, with any shift hinging on major diplomatic concessions, health developments, or escalated enforcement actions within the resolution window.
