Trader consensus has locked onto the 96-97°F outcome for Dallas on September 17 because National Weather Service observations at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport recorded a daily maximum squarely in that range. Persistent high pressure and mostly clear skies produced typical late-summer heating, with afternoon temperatures peaking near the upper 90s under light southerly flow and dew points supporting heat indices above 100°F. Forecast models converged on this solution well ahead of the date, and subsequent surface data showed no significant departures that would push the high into adjacent bins. An alternative resolution would require a post-event revision to the official climate summary or an anomaly at the primary reporting station, both uncommon once preliminary values are validated.
