**Afternoon thunderstorms and associated cloud cover represent the main factor capping Miami’s peak temperature on August 29, aligning with National Weather Service forecasts of a mostly sunny morning followed by showers and storms likely after 2 p.m. under continued easterly flow.** High humidity and heat indices near 106°F support readings in the low 90s if breaks of sun persist, consistent with the market’s heavy weighting toward 90–91°F. Typical late-August climatology shows average highs near 90°F, yet the 60–70% precipitation probability across models introduces downside risk that keeps 88–89°F as a viable secondary outcome. Updated NWS guidance and next-day observations will provide the final resolution data.
