The Trump administration’s Gold Card visa program, offering fast-track U.S. residency for a $1 million contribution, has generated limited uptake since its December 2025 launch, with only one approval and a few hundred applications under review by early May 2026. Officials initially claimed rapid sales exceeding $1 billion, yet processing delays, legal scrutiny over eligibility and timelines, and the high price point have slowed momentum among wealthy foreign applicants. These factors underpin trader consensus favoring the 1-100 range for total 2026 issuances, reflecting the program’s early performance and structural barriers relative to established investor-visa pathways. Any acceleration would require streamlined approvals or policy adjustments before year-end.
