Latvia's October 2026 parliamentary election remains tightly contested in a fragmented multi-party system where no single force commands a clear path to the largest Saeima bloc. Recent polling averages show Latvia First (LPV) holding a modest edge over the incumbent New Unity (JV), driven by opposition momentum and voter fatigue with the current coalition, while JV retains backing through its pro-EU orientation and governing record. The Progressives (PRO) and National Alliance (NA) trail as viable contenders, with smaller lists like Apvienotais Saraksts and Stability! hovering near the 5 percent threshold that determines entry. High undecided voter shares and emphasis on post-election alliances rather than outright majorities keep implied probabilities close. Further shifts could emerge from upcoming surveys, economic data releases, or pre-electoral pacts that clarify coalition viability ahead of the vote.
