Recent National Weather Service forecasts indicate Chicago will experience continued warm advection from the southwest, with overnight lows on September 1 expected near 76–80 °F amid partly cloudy skies and light winds. This pattern, driven by high pressure and elevated dew points, suppresses radiational cooling and keeps minimum temperatures well above the early-September climatological average of ~64 °F. Trader consensus reflects model uncertainty in exact cloud cover, boundary-layer mixing, and any weak frontal passages that could trim a degree or two, producing tightly bunched probabilities across the 67–86 °F range. Updated model runs and official NWS briefings ahead of Labor Day will likely sharpen resolution criteria around observed airport readings.
