Recent polling and by-election results have driven trader consensus toward the Parti Québécois as the most likely winner of the 2026 Quebec general election. Under Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, the PQ has captured several by-elections and held steady near 30 percent support in surveys, benefiting from its established organizational base and focus on sovereignty issues. The Coalition Avenir Québec has weakened following François Legault’s resignation and the subsequent leadership transition to Christine Fréchette. The Quebec Liberal Party, led by Charles Milliard, has shown gains in recent voter-intention polls but remains behind in the market’s assessment of overall seat prospects. Minor parties including the Conservatives, Greens, and Québec Solidaire register minimal support across available data.
