Arizona's 5th congressional district carries an R+10 Cook Partisan Voting Index, creating a durable structural advantage for Republicans in this open-seat contest. Former incumbent Andy Biggs retired to pursue the governorship, and the July 21, 2026, Republican primary produced nominee Mark Lamb, a former Pinal County sheriff, while Elizabeth Lee secured the Democratic nomination. Limited polling since the primaries has shown little movement, aligning with historical base rates for similar GOP-leaning districts in midterm cycles. Traders price the Republican outcome at 88 percent, reflecting the district's voting patterns and the absence of major post-primary developments that would alter the competitive balance before the November 3 general election.
