Wang Mei-hui, the Democratic Progressive Party nominee for Chiayi City mayor in Taiwan’s November 28, 2026 local elections, holds the strongest trader consensus at 78.5% implied probability, reflecting her established legislative profile, the party’s October 2025 nomination, and consistent polling leads over the main challenger. Opposition forces consolidated behind Taiwan People’s Party candidate Chang Chi-kai following KMT-TPP alliance primaries, with KMT declining an independent nominee to back the joint ticket, though this has not narrowed the gap beyond a reported six-point margin in mid-2026 surveys. Lower-priced options such as Huang Hung-cheng, Chen Chia-ping, and Weng Shou-liang register limited support, consistent with the absence of major late-breaking shifts in candidate registration timelines or campaign momentum ahead of the vote.
