For the full release schedule, see: https://www.stats.gov.cn/english/PressRelease/ReleaseCalendar/202512/t20251226_1962154.htmlChina’s Q2 2026 GDP growth slowed to 4.3% year-over-year—below the 4.5% consensus and the lower bound of the official 4.5–5.0% annual target—primarily due to subdued household consumption, weak private investment, and the lingering property sector drag, despite resilient manufacturing exports tied to AI and high-tech sectors. This uneven recovery has anchored trader sentiment around the 4.3–4.9% range for Q3, with market-implied odds heavily favoring that band amid ongoing fiscal stimulus expectations and limited monetary easing room following the Iran-related oil shock. Leading indicators such as PMI readings and retail sales point to persistent domestic demand softness through mid-August, while export momentum and potential policy adjustments remain key swing factors ahead of the Q3 release.
