Incumbent Republican Austin Scott holds a commanding position in Georgia's 8th congressional district for the November 2026 election, backed by consistent Solid or Safe Republican ratings from Cook, Sabato, Inside Elections, and Decision Desk HQ. The rural southern Georgia seat delivered Scott a 68.9% victory in 2024, and he advanced unopposed through the May Republican primary. Democrat Kelly Esti won a low-turnout primary but trails significantly in fundraising and lacks evidence of a viable path in a district with entrenched Republican structural advantages. Trader consensus at 93.5% for Republicans reflects these partisan fundamentals. Late developments such as an unforeseen national Democratic surge, major candidate-specific controversy, or health event could narrow the gap, though historical patterns and current indicators make substantial shifts improbable before Election Day.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
