Missouri’s 6th congressional district carries an R+13 Partisan Voter Index and consistent “Solid Republican” or “Safe Republican” ratings from Cook, Sabato, Inside Elections, and Decision Desk HQ, reflecting its rural northern counties plus St. Joseph and northern Kansas City suburbs. Incumbent Sam Graves’s retirement opened the seat, but the August 4 Republican primary produced nominee Chris Stigall and the Democratic primary produced Josh Smead, leaving the general-election matchup between a Republican in a structurally favorable district and a Democrat with limited path to victory. Traders price Republican victory above 93 percent because the district’s voting patterns and forecaster consensus have not shifted meaningfully since redistricting, though a sharp national Democratic wave or unusually high suburban turnout could still narrow the margin before November 3.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
