Ohio's 12th Congressional District remains a solidly Republican seat, with incumbent Troy Balderson positioned to retain the House seat in the November 2026 general election. The district's partisan voting index favors the GOP by roughly 15 points, reflecting consistent support across central Ohio counties in recent cycles. Balderson advanced unopposed in the May 5 Republican primary, while Democrat Jerrad Christian secured his party's nomination after defeating two challengers. Cook Political Report currently rates the race Solid Republican, underscoring limited Democratic path to victory absent major shifts in voter turnout or national conditions. Trader consensus reflects these structural factors, with the outcome likely to track the district's established electoral patterns.
