Recent National Weather Service and model guidance indicate a warming trend for Los Angeles on September 9 under building high pressure and mostly sunny conditions, with daytime highs projected in the upper 80s to low 90s at coastal stations like LAX. The tight market split between 88–89°F and 90–91°F reflects uncertainty in marine-layer depth, onshore flow strength, and sea-breeze timing, which can cap peak temperatures by several degrees. Historical September averages near 76–77°F provide context, yet recent early-month readings around 76–81°F and variable model outputs for inland versus coastal zones keep the two leading bins closely matched. Updated NWS briefings and afternoon model runs will likely sharpen resolution criteria around maximum sustained readings.
