Trader sentiment centers on the interplay between a persistent marine layer and variable onshore flow expected to cap San Francisco’s September 17 high near 70–73 °F. Official National Weather Service guidance and regional model runs indicate morning low clouds and a slight drizzle chance giving way to partial afternoon clearing, with southwesterly winds limiting inland heating. This setup aligns closely with climatological norms for mid-September, when average highs hover around 71 °F at downtown and airport stations. Market-implied probabilities split between the 70–71 °F and 72–73 °F bins because small differences in cloud timing or wind strength can shift the peak by 1–2 °F. Updated afternoon observations and any late-model consensus shifts on boundary-layer mixing will likely determine final resolution.
