Goldman Sachs holds an 82.5% implied probability as lead underwriter for OpenAI’s IPO due to its recent appointment as lead left on the SpaceX offering and longstanding dominance in high-profile technology listings. The AI company confidentially filed its S-1 with the SEC earlier this year targeting a potential $1 trillion valuation, naming Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley as primary bookrunners amid preparations for a possible late-2026 debut. Morgan Stanley’s 13% odds reflect its co-lead role and parallel work on the rival Anthropic IPO, while other banks remain in supporting positions. Recent revenue growth to a $25 billion run rate and large funding rounds have sustained momentum, though governance complexities from OpenAI’s public benefit corporation structure and any timeline shifts could still influence final syndicate allocations.

If no IPO occurs by December 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or OpenAI completes an initial public offering without a designated lead underwriter, this market will resolve to “Other.”
If multiple banks are identified as lead underwriters, this market will resolve according to the primary lead underwriter. If the hierarchy between them is unclear, this market will resolve once it is conclusively evident which bank is the primary lead underwriter, for example, through the order in which the banks are listed in the underwriting section of OpenAI's final initial public offering prospectus, once released.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official disclosures from OpenAI. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
