Persistent southerly winds and a strong high-pressure ridge over the southern Plains have sustained elevated minimum temperatures across central Texas, with National Weather Service guidance projecting an overnight low of 77–79°F for Austin on September 14. This pattern deviates from the 1991–2020 climatological average low of 68°F for the date, reflecting above-normal dew points and minimal radiational cooling under partly cloudy skies. Model consensus shows little day-to-day change through midweek, with no cold-front passage expected before resolution. Traders appear split on whether subtle forecast revisions or local observation differences could push the minimum outside the 70–79°F window, though current data favor values near 78°F. Updated model runs and NWS evening discussions remain the key near-term catalysts.
