**National Weather Service forecasts and supporting model runs point to a Monday high near 73°F in Chicago, driven by cooler northerly-to-easterly flow and increasing cloud cover that limits daytime heating after weekend warmth in the upper 80s.** This positions the 72–73°F bin as the market favorite at 39% implied probability, with 74–75°F (22%) and 70–71°F (21%) reflecting minor spread in guidance around that central value. Recent NWS updates emphasize partly to mostly cloudy skies and southeast winds, consistent with post-frontal moderation typical for mid-September. Traders appear to weigh the tight clustering of official and private forecasts heavily, as resolution depends on the official daily maximum recorded at Chicago’s primary reporting station.
