Traders assessing the US Dollar Index for the week of August 31, 2026, are centering on the Federal Reserve’s policy path amid recent inflation and labor market data. August CPI and employment releases have informed expectations for any near-term adjustments to the fed funds rate, with Treasury yields serving as a real-time gauge of rate-cut probabilities priced into the market. Global risk sentiment, relative central bank actions abroad, and positioning ahead of the September FOMC meeting add further layers of influence. With resolution imminent, final August economic prints and any last-minute yield movements represent the primary catalysts that could alter the levels traders have collectively backed with capital.
