Minor differences in simulated mixing depth and the precise timing of peak heating explain why traders have assigned the highest probabilities to the 86–87°F and 88–89°F brackets. Official observations from Central Park and LaGuardia will resolve the market once the daily maximum is recorded, and any late-day sea-breeze development could trim the peak by a degree or two. Historical May climatology places normal highs near 75°F, so current conditions represent a clear warm anomaly driven by the current synoptic pattern.
