Recent National Weather Service and private model consensus points to a mid-70s peak in New York City on September 6, driven by persistent northeasterly flow advecting cooler maritime air behind a departing frontal system. Forecast highs cluster between 73–76 °F under mostly sunny skies with light winds of 5–10 mph, limiting diurnal warming and keeping values near seasonal normals of 79–80 °F. The tight market split between 74–75 °F and 76–77 °F reflects minor differences in afternoon boundary-layer mixing and any thin high-cloud interference across ensemble members. No strong warm-air advection or subsidence is expected before the observation window closes, leaving resolution sensitive to the precise timing of peak insolation on September 6.
