Forecast models from sources including the South African Weather Service and international ensembles indicate Cape Town's overnight minimum on September 17 will likely settle between 10–12°C under clear skies and persistent southeast winds of 15–25 knots. Strong radiational cooling overnight is moderated by dry air and mixing from the wind field, preventing sharper drops below 10°C while limiting recovery above 12°C before dawn. Recent high-pressure dominance and absence of frontal systems have sustained these stable conditions, aligning with September climatology where minimums average near 10°C. Traders weigh slight model spreads in boundary-layer winds and dewpoint forecasts as the key uncertainty ahead of official station readings.
