Chou Chun-mi, the incumbent Democratic Progressive Party magistrate of Pingtung County since her narrow 2022 victory, holds an 87% implied probability in the market for the November 28, 2026, election. Traders appear to factor in her established incumbency, local name recognition, and the DPP's structural advantages in southern Taiwan counties. The Kuomintang's December 2025 nomination of Su Ching-chuan, her 2022 opponent who received 46.6% of the vote, underpins his 13.5% share, though no major shifts in polling, endorsements, or campaign developments have altered the positioning since nominations were finalized. The outcome hinges on turnout among traditional party bases and any late-cycle national political dynamics within the three-month window.
