This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 21 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.Current Hong Kong Observatory guidance points to light rain and a 27–31°C range for August 21, with medium-high rain probability, anchoring market-implied odds at 30°C (37.5%) and 31°C (31.5%). Persistent cloud cover and showers limit solar insolation, capping daytime maxima in Hong Kong’s subtropical monsoon climate where August averages hover near 31°C. Recent Typhoon Dolphin passage earlier in the month delivered record heat but left a more unsettled pattern, with broad troughs favoring convective activity that introduces forecast spread across models. Traders weigh subtle differences in shower timing, wind direction, and boundary-layer moisture, which can shift the daily peak by 1°C. Seasonal outlooks favor normal-to-above-normal temperatures overall, yet the immediate 24-hour window hinges on updated HKO guidance and any last-minute convective adjustments.
