Latest National Weather Service and model guidance point to a daily maximum near 78–80°F at official Los Angeles stations, driven by a persistent marine layer that clears by mid-morning before sunny skies and southwest winds of 10–15 mph develop. This setup produces modest afternoon warming without the stronger offshore flow or subsidence needed for higher readings, keeping probabilities tightly clustered between the 78–79°F and 80–81°F bins. Coastal locations such as LAX typically verify 2–4°F cooler than inland valleys, while historical September averages hover around 76°F. Traders will watch the final 3 p.m. local observation and any last-minute model shifts for confirmation before resolution.
