Recent National Weather Service and GFS model guidance positions Miami's September 16 high near 88°F under mostly sunny skies with a 70% chance of afternoon thunderstorms, which typically cap peak readings through evaporative cooling and cloud cover. This aligns with the market's heavy weighting toward 88-91°F outcomes, reflecting trader assessment of ensemble spreads and historical September variability around the 89°F climatological average. Northeast winds of 10-15 mph and elevated humidity may further moderate temperatures, while any delayed convection or stronger subsidence could push readings toward the upper end of the favored range. Updated model runs and NWS briefings ahead of peak heating remain key near-term catalysts.
