Recent forecasts from the National Weather Service and local outlets point to a daytime high near 80–82°F in Denver on September 17, with partly sunny skies giving way to scattered afternoon thunderstorms and a 30–50% precipitation chance. This range aligns with the market’s tight clustering around 78–81°F, as traders weigh the timing of convective development against peak solar heating. Thunderstorm outflows or early cloud cover can cap temperatures below the seasonal average of roughly 79°F by enhancing mixing or cutting insolation, while delayed storms allow surface warming to push readings into the low 80s. Model consensus remains modest on exact convective initiation, sustaining the narrow spread between the top two bins and limiting odds on extremes above 84°F or below 76°F. Updated NWS guidance and radar trends through midday will refine these probabilities.
