The Minnesota Democratic primary for U.S. Senate on August 11 features a tight contest between U.S. Rep. Angie Craig and Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, with four other candidates also on the ballot. Craig, whose congressional district includes Dakota County, has drawn moderate support and outside spending, while Flanagan secured the DFL endorsement and progressive backing. Recent polls show the statewide race within a few points, including a late SurveyUSA survey with Craig at 42% and Flanagan at 40%. Dakota County's position in Craig's district and limited late-cycle data on local turnout keep trader odds closely matched near 45-50% for the leading contenders. Upcoming vote counting on primary night could shift county-level probabilities based on turnout among DFL voters.
