AfD holds a commanding lead in the September 6, 2026 Sachsen-Anhalt Landtag election, with recent INSA and Infratest dimap surveys placing the party at 41-42% support, roughly 15-20 points ahead of the CDU. This positioning stems from sustained regional strength for the AfD across eastern German states, erosion of support for the incumbent CDU-SPD-FDP coalition, and broader national trends favoring the party in voter intentions. Other parties, including The Left, SPD, Greens, FDP, and BSW, poll well below 15% and show no signs of closing the gap. Trader consensus reflects these stable polling patterns and the limited time remaining before the vote. Shifts could still arise from unusually high turnout favoring mainstream parties, last-minute campaign developments, or polling errors near the 5% threshold that affect seat distribution.
