The 2026 Canadian Grand Prix at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve presents a level playing field for constructor fastest lap because its low-downforce layout, long straights, and heavy braking zones reward raw power-unit output and straight-line efficiency more than pure aerodynamic grip. Active aero regulations have compressed performance gaps across the grid, allowing Mercedes, Ferrari, and McLaren to carry qualifying pace while midfield squads such as Alpine, Haas, and Williams have shown long-run speed suited to fresh-soft tire pushes late in the race. Pirelli’s softest compounds further amplify strategic flexibility, giving multiple teams realistic shots at the DHL award and keeping implied probabilities tightly clustered around 48 percent.
