Gibson, the 21-year-old Australian, arrives after a challenging clay swing that included a straight-sets loss to Aliaksandra Sasnovich in Paris and an earlier defeat to Diana Shnaider in Rome, though she posted a win over Martina Trevisan. Lys, 24, has shown inconsistent recent form with a 3-7 record in her last ten matches and limited success on the surface this season.
