Recent July ISM Services PMI data at 54.1, continuing a string of readings in the low-to-mid 50s, anchors trader expectations for the August release near similar levels amid steady services-sector expansion. Business activity and new orders indices have provided key support in recent months, while employment has shown mixed signals and price pressures remain elevated due to energy costs and lingering tariff effects. The closely bunched probabilities across the 53–55 range reflect uncertainty over whether August data will match the prior print or soften slightly, with the August 5 release and broader economic releases likely to shape sentiment ahead of the September 3 report. Market-implied odds capture real-capital consensus on a resilient but not accelerating services backdrop.
