Persistent high pressure and a record-dry summer across North Texas kept overnight temperatures elevated in Dallas on September 11, 2026, with official forecasts and post-event climate summaries from the National Weather Service indicating a minimum near 80–81°F at DFW International Airport. This aligns with the month’s pattern of daily lows mostly in the upper 70s to low 80s amid triple-digit daytime heat and minimal cloud cover or precipitation that would otherwise promote radiational cooling. Historical averages for the date sit near 72°F, but the 2026 anomaly reflects sustained southerly flow and lack of frontal passages. A realistic challenge to the 80–81°F bin would require a revised official observation from an alternate station or measurement error exceeding typical verification tolerances.
