Recent National Weather Service forecasts and ensemble model consensus indicate a mid-90s high for Houston on September 8, with afternoon heating tempered by scattered thunderstorms and increasing cloud cover. Southerly flow and elevated moisture support heat indices above 105°F, yet convective timing could cap the peak below 95°F or allow brief clearing to push toward 96°F. Historical September averages near 90–91°F provide context, while the close market split between 92–93°F and 94–95°F bins reflects uncertainty in storm coverage and boundary-layer mixing. Updated model runs and local observations tomorrow morning will refine the exact maximum before official verification.
