Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance points to a high in the mid-to-upper 80s °F for Los Angeles on September 8, driven by gradual warming under building high pressure and reduced marine-layer influence after weekend showers. Onshore westerly flow and the coastal inversion typically cap coastal readings near LAX while allowing downtown and inland sites to reach several degrees warmer, creating the tight clustering around 84–89 °F bins. Short-range model spread remains modest, but small shifts in wind direction, stratus clearance timing, or afternoon sea-breeze strength can swing the official maximum by 2–4 °F. Updated NWS forecast discussions and 00Z/12Z model runs over the next 48 hours will refine these probabilities ahead of market resolution.
