Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus indicate overnight lows in the low 70s°F for Los Angeles on September 7, driven by persistent onshore flow, above-average Pacific sea surface temperatures, and limited marine layer influence. These conditions favor minima near or slightly above the 1991–2020 average of 64°F, with ensemble guidance showing modest spread from potential variations in wind direction or cloud cover. The closely matched market-implied odds on extreme cold (59°F or below) versus warm (78°F or higher) outcomes reflect trader focus on forecast uncertainty in advection patterns and the resolution criteria tied to official minimum observations at stations like Los Angeles International Airport. Updated NOAA model runs over the next 48 hours will clarify any shifts ahead of the observation window.
