National Weather Service and model consensus forecast a high near 91°F for Houston on September 9 amid humid conditions and a 40-50% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. These factors favor the leading 90-91°F bin at 52% implied probability by promoting cloud cover and evaporative cooling that typically suppress peak readings below the seasonal average of 90.5°F. Persistent warmth from recent mid-90s days supports the 28.5% odds on 92-93°F if convection remains limited or delayed, while lower bins reflect downside risks from stronger storms. Updated model runs and midday observations will refine resolution criteria tied to official maximum temperature measurements.
