National Weather Service forecasts and recent model runs point to sunny skies and a high near 100–101°F for Dallas on September 9, sustaining the ongoing heat wave with south winds and heat indices above 105°F. Persistent high pressure promotes strong subsidence and minimal cloud cover, maximizing solar heating while southerly advection of warm, humid Gulf air limits cooling; slight model spread in peak timing and boundary-layer mixing explains the near-even market split between 98–99°F and 100–101°F bins. Historical September averages near 91°F underscore the anomalous conditions, with low rain chances further supporting elevated maxima. Updated afternoon observations from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport will resolve the exact daily high.
