The contest for second place in the Minas Gerais Senate race remains tightly fragmented, with trader consensus assigning similar implied probabilities across a wide field of contenders. Recent July polling from Quaest and others shows Marília Campos (PT) leading overall but no single candidate dominating the battle for the remaining seat, as support scatters among names including Aécio Neves (PSDB, prior to any withdrawal), Carlos Viana (PSD), Marcelo Aro (PP), and Domingos Sávio (PL). This dispersion, combined with the first-past-the-post system electing two senators on October 4 and ongoing party realignments ahead of the October deadline, sustains high uncertainty. Late shifts in alliances, turnout among key blocs, or further candidate exits could quickly alter positioning before election day.
