**A cold front advancing across central Argentina is the dominant driver behind current market odds favoring a 17°C or 18°C high in Buenos Aires on September 21.** Southwesterly winds of 25–40 km/h are expected to advect cooler, drier air behind the front, suppressing daytime warming despite peak spring solar insolation near the equinox. Official model consensus from GFS and regional guidance points to partly cloudy skies with limited cloud cover after morning clearing, yielding an afternoon maximum in the 15–17°C range—slightly below seasonal norms for late September. Recent observations show the preceding days featured warmer, more humid conditions with light rain, setting up the sharp temperature drop. Traders appear to weigh the strong post-frontal signal against minor model spread in exact peak timing and wind mixing, which could allow brief excursions to 18°C under clearer breaks. No major data releases are pending before resolution.
