Official National Weather Service forecasts for Atlanta on September 19 project a high near 94°F amid an unseasonable upper-level ridge centered over the southern plains, which has sustained 5–10°F above-normal temperatures through mid-September. Increasing moisture from a Gulf low is expected to trigger scattered afternoon thunderstorms, with 40–50% rain chances that could introduce cloud cover and evaporative cooling to cap the daily maximum. Model consensus shows limited spread, but small differences in storm timing and coverage explain the tight clustering of market-implied odds around 90–95°F, as earlier convection would favor the lower bins while delayed activity supports the upper end of that range. Updated NWS guidance and local observations over the next 48 hours will refine these thresholds.
