**Trader consensus heavily favors a 15°C daily maximum in Wellington on September 20, 2026, reflecting official forecasts and early observations showing a high near that threshold.** Southerly winds and increasing cloud cover have kept temperatures suppressed relative to recent days, with Met Office guidance and model outputs pointing to a peak around 13–15°C amid light rain chances and moderate humidity. This aligns with climatological norms for mid-September (typical highs near 13–14°C) and current surface observations, such as afternoon readings near 14°C. The overwhelming market-implied probability incorporates the “wisdom of crowds” from traders assessing real-time data from agencies like MetService. A realistic challenge would require an unexpected late-day warming spike or revision in the official maximum, though model consensus and steering patterns make significant deviation unlikely before resolution.
